Head of Innovation

The role:

The Head of Innovation at this leading international clean energy company will spearhead the development and implementation of a strategy for harnessing emerging technologies and technical breakthroughs, with a focus on commercialization. This position reports to the Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer and leads the Group Innovation team that is responsible for managing a portfolio of R&D and technology commercialization investments.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the Company Innovation Program and convene the Company Innovation Board, which governs strategy and technology investment across the company.

• Lead Group Innovation Team in ensuring end-to-end delivery of thematic technology roadmaps through cross-functional collaboration with teams across the company

• Operate the company's corporate venture investments in emerging technology start-ups

• Lead university technology partnerships

• Lead and project-manage select high-value innovation investments, pilots, and demonstrations
• Build the company's external innovation profile, including implementing our communication strategy that features innovation as one of the core pillars of the company.

Essential Skills/Experience:

• Experience with University partnerships, executing R&D leading developing technologies ideally through commercialization

• Project leadership experience working with budgets $25M+

  • At least 5 years working in a dynamic international environment
• Technical graduate degree, PhD preferred
