Our story

2009

Consult Solutions 2009 was founded

In October 2009 Consult Solutions was founded by Richard Bartlett and Kevin Tyler, in a back room of their terraced house in Erdington, Birmingham. Consult Solutions main speciality at the time, was in I.T and Finance recruitment.

2010 - 2014

Our Birmingham office opened

The team grew to 3 employees and opened a new office in the heart of Birmingham's city centre. Over the coming years Consult Solutions expanded and grew to 9 employees.

2017

Consult Energy was formed

After years of working across Finance, I.T and Energy, the company made a conscious decision to niche down into the Energy Sector and Consult Solutions was renamed to Consult Energy.

2019

Consult Energy expanded into the US market

William Vamplew, who formerly worked for the UK company, set about venturing into the US market.

2020

Consult Energy transitioned into the renewable energy sector

Consult Energy's US team employed its first employees to specialize in recruiting for the US renewable energy market, going from 2 employees to 7 in the first year.

2021

A year of growth!

Consult Energy grew its company both across the UK and US teams to 25 employees. We also employed our first US employee based in Boston, MA.

2022

We opened our Boston HQ

We opened our Boston headquarters and grew our headcount across both the UK and US teams to 50+ employees.

From cub scouts to travelling the world together our founders Kevin Tyler and Richard Bartlett joined forces in business with the shared belief that they could achieve great things and push the boundaries of what a typical recruitment service should look like.

We’re now proud to be one of the leading energy and utility recruitment specialists, and our ethos focuses on providing the best possible service to both our clients and candidates alike. We have worked hard to build trusted partnerships with our clients and have instilled that same work ethic into our expanding team.
