Our story

2009

Consult Solutions 2009 was founded

In October 2009 Consult Solutions was founded by Richard Bartlett and Kevin Tyler, in a back room of their terraced house in Erdington, Birmingham. Consult Solutions main speciality at the time, was in I.T and Finance recruitment.

2010 - 2014

Our Birmingham office opened

The team grew to 3 employees and opened a new office in the heart of Birmingham's city centre. Over the coming years Consult Solutions expanded and grew to 9 employees.

2017

Consult Energy was formed

After years of working across Finance, I.T and Energy, the company made a conscious decision to niche down into the Energy Sector and Consult Solutions was renamed to Consult Energy.

2024

VIQU Group acquired Consult Energy

In August 2024, The VIQU Group acquired Consult Energy, bringing together Consult Energy and the Birmingham branch of VIQU IT Recruitment under the same roof at Camomile House, Edgbaston.

Our leadership team is uniquely built on a strong foundation of over 35 years of friendship.

From cub scouts to travelling the world together our founders Kevin Tyler and Richard Bartlett joined forces in business with the shared belief that they could achieve great things and push the boundaries of what a typical recruitment service should look like.

We’re now proud to be one of the leading energy and utility recruitment specialists, and our ethos focuses on providing the best possible service to both our clients and candidates alike. We have worked hard to build trusted partnerships with our clients and have instilled that same work ethic into our expanding team.
