Renewables Programme Manager - Oxford Role Summary Our client is entering into a new growth phase, particularly in the solar space where they are approaching the construction phase of 4 utility-scale ground mounted solar projects that will expand its installed solar capacity by greater than 10-fold along with ambitions for even greater growth in the solar space over the next 10 years and is looking to develop the pipeline of projects for its next phase.
As Renewables Programme Manager, you’ll oversee the execution of the four utility-scale solar projects and lead the development of the businesses future solar project pipeline.
Key Responsibilities Project Coordination & Delivery:
- Oversee the execution of four utility-scale solar projects, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and contractual obligations.
- Coordinate and support the multiple solar project workstreams for the 4 sites including; legal, Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), Project Finance, ICP design and Construction.
- Act as the primary interface between internal teams and external stakeholders, driving project progress and resolving key challenges.
- Ensure robust project governance, risk management, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder & Commercial Management:
- Lead and chair monthly Steering Committees (SteerCo) with the CCS Director and senior stakeholders, providing updates on progress, risks, and key decisions.
- Working closely with the Technical solar project PM to support commercial discussions, contract negotiations, and variations as required.
- Foster strong relationships with landowners, residents, councils and DNOs.
Strategic Growth & Pipeline Development:
- Work closely with senior leadership to define and execute long-term renewable energy strategy
- Lead the development of the next phase of solar expansion.
Key Requirements - Proven experience in renewable energy project management, ideally in solar PV projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Track record of delivering complex multi-disciplinary energy projects on time and within budget.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of UK energy regulations and grid connection processes is desirable.
- Experience in business development within the renewable sector is desirable.
