I initially joined Consult in January 2020 as a trainee consultant on the technology side of the business recruiting for IT contractors until a mix of Covid and IR35 engineered a move into Consult Energy working in the Data Analytics team and have developed so much in an industry and a field that I am incredibly passionate about.

I have always been incredibly geeky and since school have had a massive interest in data and enjoy speaking to people at all levels about their experiences, technical tools and abilities, strategies, and how best to get the best out of data to drive businesses forward.

Time Pressure for Niche Role

They had a very niche wholesale energy regulation position that they had struggled to fill for over 3 months due to skill shortage in this field. Going to an agency was seen as a last resort but lack of a candidate pipeline through their own means meant they needed someone to assist with strong insight into the market and thus a contact I knew recommended they use me. Having engaged us just before Christmas, time was of the essence prior to what always becomes a busy hiring period in January.
