Governance Officer London (Hybrid working)
12 month Fixed Term Contract Consult Energy are working with a leading management consultancy that specialises in delivering strategic solutions in the Energy, Low Carbon, Public Sector, and Health sectors. Working with senior leaders to help organisations navigate complex challenges and implement innovative solutions that enhance governance, compliance, and operational efficiency.
The role: We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented
Governance Officer to join the team. This role will involve supporting clients in developing, implementing, and refining governance frameworks, ensuring compliance, and driving decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional minute-taker, an experienced supervisor, and a strong communicator, capable of working effectively with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities: - Governance Frameworks & Advisory: Responsible for organising agendas and terms of reference, coordinating pre- and post-meeting documentation, attending meetings, and engaging with and responding to committee Chairs and attendees.
- Minute-Taking & Documentation: Attend high-level governance meetings, steering committees, and senior leadership forums. Capture accurate and detailed minutes in real-time, ensuring all key decisions, actions, and discussions are documented clearly and promptly.
- Team Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of 2, providing guidance on processes, minute-taking, and documentation. Ensure team members are organised, efficient, and meet project deadlines.
- Communication & Reporting: Communicate clearly to clients and stakeholders in both written and verbal formats. Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations that are clear, concise, and tailored to the audience.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on governance strategies and initiatives. Maintain effective relationships to facilitate collaboration and the successful execution of governance plans.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in governance practices, minute-taking procedures, and team coordination. Recommend and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of governance operations.
- Quality Control: Review and ensure the accuracy and quality of all governance-related documents, meeting minutes, and reports produced by the team.

Salary: £32,000 - £42,000 (depending on experience) + company benefits
