Are you an experienced leader in the energy sector with a passion for operational excellence? Consult Energy are looking for a Head of Metering to lead and oversee an established metering function, driving efficiency, innovation, and regulatory compliance in a dynamic industry.
 
About the Role
As the Head of Metering, you will be responsible for a smart meter rollout, metering operations—including installations and maintenance—and ensuring accurate customer billing. You will also manage third-party metering asset and service providers, ensuring commercial robustness and optimal contract performance. This role is integral to the Customer Operations leadership team, directly impacting cost to serve and overall customer experience.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic oversight of all metering operations.
• Manage teams responsible for meter installations, replacements, and repairs.
• Oversee relationships with key external partners, including meter installers and industry bodies.
• Ensure regulatory compliance in alignment with industry codes.
• Lead the implementation of smart meter programs.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with Meter Asset Providers (MAPs) and third-party providers.
• Collaborate with internal departments to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
• Monitor and report on operational performance against KPIs.
• Lead and resolve key operational challenges with a data-driven approach.
• Foster a high-performance culture and a great place to work.
• Engage with senior stakeholders, industry bodies, and regulators.

About You

• Strong operational experience in a UK based energy business. 
• Ideally you will have experience leading a metering team within the industry. 
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a passion for team development.
• Strong commercial and contract management skills to ensure optimal third-party performance.
• Experience in delivering new projects and managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced industry.

Salary: £75,000 - £95,000
