Consult Energy is looking for a Trading and Risk Analyst to work with a growing energy company to help manage their energy portfolio through market analysis and risk management responsibilities.
 
Trading and Risk Analyst - Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse UK gas and electricity markets, track trends, and forecast prices.
• Monitor portfolio exposures, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Share insights with internal teams to drive data-driven decisions.
• Oversee energy trading processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and support trading operations/back-office function.
• Develop and implement trading strategies to enhance risk management and profitability.
• Build dashboards, tools, and models to streamline risk management.
• Improve reporting tools for better accuracy and decision-making.
• Document and refine key processes.

Trading and Risk Analyst - What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in a commercial Analyst role, ideally in the Energy / Utilities industry.
• Commitment to learning and delivering high-quality work.
• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Ideally a STEM/Economics/other numerical degree or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with data tools – in particular Excel and SQL.
• Any other experience in programming languages e.g. Python, R, Matlab or similar, would be advantageous, but can be developed in the role.

What’s in it for you?
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience)
Location: SW London (near Richmond) – hybrid working
