Project Engineer

About the Company - We are working with a rapidly growing and innovative Battery Energy Storage Solutions company who have an exciting opportunity to join their growing team.

About the Role - The ideal candidate will be a Project Engineer with experience working on Low Voltage and High Voltage electrical systems.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Development and Procurement teams by conducting site visits to assess electrical infrastructure, define project scope, support design efforts, and prepare technical specifications for tenders and contracts.
• Contribute to the design and engineering of battery energy storage systems in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors and consultants to ensure design consistency, compliance with project requirements and effective communication.
• Support the assigned Project Manager in planning and executing BESS projects throughout the entire project lifecycle and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Provide on-site support during installation and commissioning, addressing technical challenges and monitoring site activities and contractor ITP submissions to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

Experience:

• Must be proficient in engineering design software e.g., AutoCAD.
• Must have a comprehensive understanding of electrical systems (LV/HV) and the application of DC battery technology, with knowledge of relevant electrical standards and regulations (e.g., BS 7671, 18th Edition).
• Should have experience with grid connections at Distribution or Transmission voltages, ensuring compliance with technical requirements and delivering grid-connected battery energy storage systems in the U.K.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Power Systems Engineering or related field
• 2+ Years experience in project engineering with a focus on electrical systems in the energy sector
• CSCS card holder of equivalent site safety scheme
