I joined Consult in 2014 ahead of a number offers due to the vision Richard and Kevin had for the company and what was explained that would mean for my career.

Recruitment has a reputation for false promises but fortunately for me, what was promised has genuinely become reality here. Having launched the company into energy & utilities, I progressed from a Trainee Consultant with no sales experience to managing a team within 4 years, in that time, seeing the company pivot to solely focusing on recruiting within Energy. From there I launched our US business in 2019, growing into Renewable Energy and growing the team to 25 in 2023.

Drive is ultimately how I've got to where I have now and that is something that I see in every Consultant that joins us. Our willingness to go above and beyond for each other, as well as our candidates and clients is ultimately what sets us apart from others – we work harder, longer and with more passion which results in real strength and performance.

Time Pressure for Niche Role

They had a very niche wholesale energy regulation position that they had struggled to fill for over 3 months due to skill shortage in this field. Going to an agency was seen as a last resort but lack of a candidate pipeline through their own means meant they needed someone to assist with strong insight into the market and thus a contact I knew recommended they use me. Having engaged us just before Christmas, time was of the essence prior to what always becomes a busy hiring period in January.
