On the 15^th of October we hosted our second ever event bringing the wonderful mentors and mentees of our Future Leaders – The Utilities Mentoring Network together under one roof. Once again, we had a fantastic turnout at the event with attendees coming from all over the country to be a part of our mentoring mixer.

Our Future Leaders Utilities Mentoring events take place every quarter to bring everybody together as well as welcoming some new faces onto the programme. Ensuring the future of our utilities sector shines brightly is the name of the game for us, so our events are geared around enriching the professional lives of our utilities mentors and mentees.

This time we were joined by Emma Dredge, an esteemed mindfulness coach at Project Awesome Life, to discuss the all-important topic of mindfulness at work. Emma’s wealth of experience in implementing tangible mindfulness programmes within businesses across the country was a real asset to the group. She took us on a deep dive into what it means to practice mindfulness and how to incorporate this into your daily working life.

Also joining us on the day was one of our utility sector mentors, John Walsh. John delivered a compelling talk on stakeholder engagement – something which both our mentors and mentees alike found incredibly useful. John’s background in smart metering meant that he was able to share a plethora of market specific insights into the art of proper stakeholder engagement.

Both the drinks and conversation were flowing all afternoon, and with so many successful knowledgeable people in the room, we found the event to be incredibly inspiring.
