Consult Energy has started 2021 with a bang. As January comes to a close, we can safely say we’re off to a great start already. From new hires, to exciting new developments – it’s been a very busy beginning to the year, but with so much negative news doing the rounds (and with good reason) we wanted to spread a little positivity.
Welcoming new starters
After managing to exceed our targets during the pandemic last year against all odds, we were in a great position to grow the Consult Energy family. We were delighted to welcome Matt Dines on board as our new Talent Manager, placing candidate care at the heart of what we do. With so much opportunity in the energy space and renewables continuing to grow, we just wanted to expand our capabilities to make sure we’re engaging with the right people for the right opportunities.
Matt had the following to say, “My first few weeks with Consult have been really enjoyable. I’m a lot more comfortable starting a new job from home than I expected. I’ve been given heaps of support getting set up, and there’s a lot of trust here which is really refreshing.”
Next up we had Stuart Kennedy who re-joined the business as the Manager of our IT & Technology division after leaving the business for a few years to develop his standing in the sector. This is big news for us as we’re developing our already successful technology arm of the business, Stuart’s background in IT and Technology makes him the ideal choice to lead on new exciting ventures in the tech space.
We asked Stuart how he found Consult Energy so far: “It’s been amazing joining Consult and the onboarding process was seamless – even remotely! Working with such a reputable, well recognised brand is wonderful, ultimately it makes our jobs of reaching out to clients in our industry so much easier.”
Moving on up
We didn’t just grow our team in numbers in January, but also in knowledge and capability as we made some pretty big promotions. Jordan Hyde landed a promotion from Candidate Delivery Consultant to Client Delivery Consultant, thanks to his hard work and perseverance. He’ll now be working with a range of our clients in the Data and Analytics sector.
Former Operations Manager Katie Stevenson was promoted to Head of People. The decision comes after Katie started her Level 5 CIPD, fully funded by Consult, and we saw her naturally progress into a more HR-focused role.
Consult Energy veteran, Joseph Hewitt, also was promoted to Manager – Operations and Projects where he’ll be leading the ops team while also delivering world class service to his clients. Joseph’s been with us for almost 5 years, with his in-depth knowledge of the energy and utilities space, he’ll be a credit to any of our sub-sectors.
On our USA arm of the business, Adam Neeves got promoted from Candidate Consultant to a Senior Candidate Consultant after a track record of providing world class candidate care and sourcing into the US renewables market for solar, wind and transmission.
Celebrating success
While we’re proud of our market expertise and efficiency at what we do, one of the aspects of Consult that really sets us aside from the competition is our people. For us, supporting our team and arming them with the tools to grow their skillsets and develop with the company is part and parcel of what we do.
Can you see a bright future for yourself in energy and utilities recruitment? We’re always looking for talented people to join our team, and we’d love to chat and find out how we can work together. Get in touch with Katie Stevenson to find out more about the opportunities we’ve got on at the moment.
