Consult Energy Goes To Palma: Our Best Bits

Date Added: 15.10.19

Here at Consult, rewarding our team for their successes is just part of who we are. So naturally after having a great year, we thought it was time to treat the team to their very first whole office holiday to sunny Palma for a last glimpse of sunshine before the colder months set in.

Each and every member of the team here has contributed to what has been a truly amazing year for Consult Energy, that’s why it wasn’t just the top billers who got a spot on the trip to sunny Majorca. From launching our USA office to welcoming some new faces on board and even seeing a significant growth in turnover for the business, we had plenty of reasons to celebrate. Here are some of our highlights from the last 12 months…

Future proofing

Since we’re not your average recruitment consultancy, it should come as no surprise that we’d been looking at ways to offer our clients and candidates a more streamlined, innovative service. So, this year we saw the inception of our Consult Energy Hub video interviewing portal which means we can cut down our time to hire significantly while giving clients better visibility on the early stage interview process.

Additionally, we’ve moved into a larger office and set up a structure that can take us up to 30 employees and support our growth plans into 2020 and beyond!

Our team

We believe that our team is one of our biggest assets as a business, we know we wouldn’t be where we are now without the talented and dynamic people we’re lucky enough to have on board. One of our big goals to achieve by summer 2020 was to treble our headcount from 8 people to 24. This year we’ve welcomed Katie, Adam, Danny and Mia to the team bringing us up to 12 – so we’re making headway with this already.

And that’s not all, we actually applauded some promotions across the team, two of which that were only announced during Director Kevin Tyler’s speech during the Palma trip as a surprise to Ed Jacob and Stacey Harris who had both been promoted to Senior Consultants. Earlier in the year we also saw Joseph Hewitt embark on his management development plan – so it’s safe to say that the future is looking very bright for our team all round.

New ventures

We’re always striving for bigger and better things here at Consult to be able to offer our clients and candidates the best service possible. Now, we didn’t set out to conquer the globe but we’ve certainly taken a big leap across the pond to set up our Consult USA office. Will Vamplew has worked tirelessly over the last 12 months to set up shop over in Boston Massachusetts and we can’t wait to see where else this takes us.

Additionally, we’ve been working hard to set up our Future Leaders Mentoring Network to keep the future of the energy and utilities sector shining brighter than ever by connecting experienced energy and utilities professionals with new managers to help further their careers. A huge amount of effort has gone into launching this, and we’re really excited to be able to share more information with you all very soon.

So what did we get up to in sunny Palma? Well, let’s just say there was a lot of good food, flowing drinks, soaking in the sun by the pool and, of course, dancing the nights away. Luckily for you, we brought our videographer along to document the entire thing, just hit play on the video below and you can feel like you were out there with us.
